Cultivating Light Studio is a new kind of studio founded on the idea that we all have a flame inside us that needs protection, care and to be cultivated to shine bright.

In order to protect and cultivate our flame, we have to get to know ourselves. We have to get to know ourselves enough to know what feeds our soul and then be brave enough to take aligned action with what makes us feel alive.

The only requirement to come to Cultivating Light Studio is to be human.

It is so easy to abandon ourselves, when we don’t know ourselves and do things that don’t feel aligned to fit in, be loved or make money.

The vision for Cultivating Light Studio is to become a safe, supportive community of like-minded humans who value learning about ourselves and growing from the inside out.

Cultivating Light Studio values learning about ourselves within a safe community who supports us. Most inner work is done in isolation with 1:1 practitioners or in quiet moments with ourselves, which absolutely has its place and learning about ourselves in a group can amplify our progress.

Each of our classes and breathwork are designed to build on one another. There is no correct order and classes can be taken more than once. Start with what feels aligned for you. Cultivating Light Studio is here to support the cultivation of YOU.

Somatic Breathwork

Using conscious connected breath, we get to meet ourselves on the deepest level. We spend a lot of our time outside of ourselves. We dilute our voices. We censor our deepest beliefs. We are very careful not to be the fullness of who we are, which impacts how we show up for ourselves, with the people we love and in the world.

Breath is another way to get quiet and curious, listen to what’s happening inside and move it through. You come back into awareness with more clarity, peace and grounding in who you are, ready to take aligned action and move towards living the life YOU want to live.

I’m so excited to embark upon this new kind of studio. We focus on learning to connect with yourself by getting quiet, curious and listening to take aligned action, meet your needs and desires, despite what others think. We all have a soul. A self to get to know and build a relationship with. We all go through times of struggle and have times when we feel like we’ve got this! Skills to connect with and understand ourselves are needed all the time. Being with ourselves is one of the few constants in life and so important because we are with ourselves 24/7. 

I began working professionally in mental health in 2005, went to grad school and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2012, however, Cultivating Light Studio does not offer therapy. We teach skills to go deeper into your relationship with yourself, you to you. Although there are benefits to western medicine, I intentionally stepped away from the medical model of crisis, diagnosis, insurance, etc. during my own journey with chronic illness. Through my healing experience using a self-guided neuroplasticity program and other modalities, I believe there are many paths to wellbeing, but the foundation is getting to know yourself and your body.

After 2 years of my own practice, I was recently trained as a Somatic Breathwork Facilitator by Jamie Janko at ReWild Breathwork. Breathwork is another modality I used to step back into life after chronic illness, decrease anxiety and strengthen my connection, me to me. Learning to trust myself allowed me to make decisions from a soul aligned place and live the life I want to live. It is the perfect adjunct to the skills Cultivating Light Studio offers to get quiet, curious and listen to take aligned action and live the life YOU want to live.
